> Who am I <

My name is Dominik, and I am the founder of WAR-OTTER. Long before Ukraine became the center of my life, my path was shaped by responsibility. I spent many years working as a youth educator, supporting children and teenagers from difficult backgrounds. That time taught me patience, accountability, and the importance of standing by people when systems fail them. Parallel to this, I worked in private security, where reliability and situational awareness were not optional, but essential. I later served in the German Armed Forces, where I completed my military training, including advanced courses and later on also specialized training. There, I learned discipline, structure, and operational thinking under pressure – skills that would later prove crucial outside any classroom or training ground. In January 2025, I chose to stop observing the war in Ukraine from afar. I traveled to the country and joined the International Legion. I spent time in active war zones, including Kupiansk, where I operated close to the front, and Kramatorsk, where I worked alongside combat medics, supporting medical response and evacuation efforts after and during attacks. These experiences made one thing clear: commitment alone is not enough. Survival depends on preparation, equipment, and collective support. Today, I live in the Capital, Kyiv. The war is not something I read about – it is part of daily life. Air raid alarms, missile and drone attacks, and strikes on civilian infrastructure are a constant reality. Living here has reinforced what I already learned at the front: this war affects everyone, not just those in uniform. WAR-OTTER was created from this understanding. It is more than a clothing brand. It is a way to turn experience into direct, transparent action. A significant portion of our profits is used to support humanitarian aid and essential equipment for those affected by the war – without detours and with full accountability. I believe that meaningful change only happens when people take responsibility together –across borders, professions, and backgrounds. Every single person can make a difference. But many people, acting together, can make the Change.

> Why Otter <

Otters are more than just cute. They are fast, agile, intelligent – and their social behavior is nothing short of remarkable. Whether hunting, swimming, or sleeping, they don’t act alone. Sea otters, for example, hold each other’s paws while they sleep to avoid drifting apart – a powerful image of loyalty, unity, and trust.

In Ukraine, Eurasian otters (Lutra lutra) inhabit rivers like the Dnipro and Dnister, and can be found in protected areas such as Chornobyl or the Dnipro-Oril Nature Reserve. They are rare – but they are there. Just like true strength: often quiet, but always present when it matters. Otters are natural survivors. They defend their territory, adapt to harshenvironments, think strategically and they never give up. Despite their gentle appearance, they are efficient hunters, resilient, and full of drive.
